It has charitable status (1142429) and families, friends and staff who are over 18 and associated with the school are welcome to become members . More importantly, supporting Friends of Hawthorns events will enable the association to continue to support the school and pupil whatever needs are identified.

New mini bus project
Now the playground project is in the final stage of completion we are now looking into raising funds for a new school mini bus. We currently have two mini buses, both of which are over 10 years old. The buses are in working condition, however due to increased class sizes not all classes can use the blue mini bus due to limited number of seats.
We are looking to raise money for a 17 seater mini bus which would have enough seats for any class to use. Our next fundraising events will be the Christmas coffee morning/ afternoon and Santa’s Grotto on the 30th November. See our facebook http://www.facebook.com/friendsofhawthorns/ page for more details about this event.
Playground 3 Project update
The playground 3 project finally began in July 2018. The first part was the laying of the artificial grass. The second part was the building of the new climbing frame and activity panels.
The final part of the project will be the building of the shelter and sensory garden, which will be hopefully built in early 2019.
